Northern Ireland Homes & Lifestyle 2nd April 2012

McKay House, Downhill features in Northern Ireland Home & Lifestyle magazine, March /April 2012
“It was time to call in the architects. I knew of local firm, Studiorogers, who came highly recommended, so we arranged to meet with them to discuss the options. We liaised with Damien McLaughlin of Studiorogers, giving him our specific brief. While we always knew we wanted to open up the interior, it was Damien who came up with the fabulous idea for the window design.”

25 Beautiful Homes 9th January 2012

House Mills 1, Aghadowey features in 25 Beautiful Homes magazine.
Client’s Favourite Feature: The house’s layout suits our lifestyle perfectly – it’s semi open-plan so the family room leads off from the kitchen and dining area, yets it’s separate, which means noise and cooking smells are never a problem.
Enlisting the skills of architects Studiorogers, Wendy and Andy were presented with a set of designs that suited the rural landscape and the couple’s lifestyle. ‘You can recognise Studiorogers houses easily,’ says Wendy. ‘Each has the company’s signature look-designed in the traditional Irish vernacular but with a modern twist.’

“From tired Bungalow to Fabulous retreat.” House Robb situated at 47 Ballyreagh Road, Portstewart has recently featured in Coast magazine. We have included a section of the editorial below that was write by feature writer, Janet McMeekin.

“To bring their ideas to fruition, the Robbs enlisted the help of designer Stephen McMonagle of Studiorogers Architects Ltd, based in nearby Coleraine. They gave him a clear brief. ‘The light in this part of the world is so special we hoped to bring as much of it into our new home as possible,’ Caroline says.
‘The site called for something simple, with white rendering and weatherboarding and plenty of glass to let in that wonderful light,’ says Stephen. ‘I felt that the site explained how the house would work.’ Inverting the living accommodation seemed obvious, as was creating two large balconies at the front and rear of the home where the family could have barbecues and a grandstand view as the motorbikes whizz past during the famous North West 200 road race.”

“She has designed a fence composed of tree forms of varying scales that will be laser cut into aluminium. For Michael Rogers, partner, it is anticipated that it will have huge public benefit for a relatively small scheme due to the art dimension of the project. It is intended that this short avenue will change both the experience and vary patterns of school going.
