Michael Rogers
Director / Architect

What do you love about your job?

Creating, Thinking, Problem Solving, Innovating……

Where did you study?

I was educated at Coleraine Inst and then studied Architecture at the University in Dundee at the Duncan Jordanstone College of Art. The studio style mix at the Art College with painters, sculptors, graphic designers, illustrators, Architects etc was a very creative environment. It didn’t feel like University to me.

1981-1984 BSc Architecture

1985-1987 B Arch (Hons) Architecture

1987-1988 Architectural Qualification – Professional Practice, RIBA Part 3

Tell me a bit about your career to date?

I founded Studiorogers Architects in 1995. I have over 20 years experience in the industry with expertise in a wide variety of construction sectors. I have a passion for design excellence from the design concept through to detailed project execution. I am committed to the team and business developments at all levels.

Did you always want to become an Architect?

Yes, I grew up in the construction industry. My Dad was an engineer who built some mega projects overseas that encouraged me in the direction of Architecture. He was a genuine lover of great buildings and the passion rubbed off on me.

What is your favourite colour and why?

I like blue but then so does everyone else. (Cobalt blue, Duckegg blue, Powder blue, Turquoise, Electric blue…..I could go on).

Do you have a favourite building that you admire from an architectural perspective?

I love the Chrysler building in New York. My wife had a 3 foot high cake made in the style of the Chrysler building for my 40th birthday celebrations.
